Brusha, Brusha, Brusha!*
Does anyone else remember the scene in Grease when Jan since the Ipana 'brush your teeth' song?I find myself singing something similar to Bubba when it's tooth time around here.I am very particular about my toothpaste as I try to choose brands that are free of the common "yucky stuff" you're supposed to keep OUT of your mouth, I'm looking at YOU plastic blue crystal thingies.I also prefer kinds of toothpaste that feel like they're getting the job done, nothing like brushing your teeth and getting that greasy feeling. *shudder*So my must-haves for toothpaste include:-clean feeling-fresh tasting-free of harmful yucky stuff-get's the job doneThat's not too much to ask, is it?Well, not anymore! I had the opportunity to try the Himalaya Botanique Complete Care Toothpaste and boy did they deliver! They have 7 flavors to choose from- SEVEN! As I tend to be indecisive, you can imagine how difficult it was for me to pick the first one to try.I finally decided upon the Simply Peppermint flavor as I knew that's the one I would have the best chance of Hubs taking a test run too. So, let's head to the checklist and see how it fared:-clean feeling: YES! You know how, when you go to the dentist, they clean your teeth and it just feels like you've got extra room in there? Or for those natural mamas who brush with charcoal every week (yes, that's me)- that super clean, no gunk feeling is very similar to the post-brushing sensation from this toothpaste.-fresh tasting: so fresh and so clean, clean! I'm not too picky about types of flavor for toothpaste- as long as they're mint! haha! Well, I'm not super into cinnamon and you keep that bubble gum gunk away from me! The Himalaya Peppermint wasn't overpowering but was enough to let you know it was there. A nice balance.-free of harmful yucky stuff: As per the packaging, the Himalaya line is free from Carrageenan, Fluoride and Sodium Lauryl Sulfate (SLS)! Bingo, bango, bungo!-get's the job done: A bonus point on this one, the kiddos had been sick with the toddler plague (summer cold) and so in my usual pseudo-crunchy-mom-fashion I had been slathering them with a garlic salve concoction that left much to be desired in scent. My hands were taking quite the garlic-beating and my kiddos smelled like little Italian meatballs. As a last ditch effort, I slathered some of the toothpaste on my hand and used it to wash and buff out the smell- woohoo garlic-free-sleeping! Clearly, that isn't a perk listed on their packaging but it's safer than squirting Windex on my hands and hoping for the best.I've been using the Himalaya line for a couple of weeks now and don't see myself stopping anytime soon. Side note- my big-brand-toothpaste-loving-husband enjoyed the Himalaya toothpaste as well! That's saying something as in 8 years I haven't gotten him to put a different type of toothpaste onto his toothbrush until this one!If you'd like to try Himalaya, which I definitely recommend, use the coupon code 4HO6OZVH at Amazon.com for 25% off and let me know what you think! Oh! If you can get the bamboo toothbrush- it's sooooo soft!Stay Fresh,M*I received this product for free from Moms Meet (momsmeet.com) to use and post my honest opinions.
