Mommy-hood is...

“To describe my mother would be to write about a hurricane in its perfect power. Or the climbing, falling colors of a rainbow.” – Maya AngelouSounds pretty, doesn't it?As mothers, we know it isn't always pretty.Yesterday I attempted to take photos of my two cherubs for our Christmas cards.I can tell you, by the end, I was sweating. Out of the 86 photos I quickly snapped within 4.5 minutes I probably have 2-3 that are card worthy...with a significant amount of editing.Ahh motherhood. Here are a few more things that Mommy-hood is:Mommy-hood is, being a human tissue, a teddy bear and a safe place.Mommy-hood is, adhering to schedules and rules and promises- even when you don't want to.Mommy-hood is, dirty and messy and sometimes sticky... for unknown reasons.Mommy-hood is, answering the question 'what are you doing here?' 1800 times in a day.Mommy-hood is, priceless.Mommy-hood is, late nights, goals and balance.Mommy-hood is, early mornings, rocking chairs and lullabies.Mommy-hood is, no breaks, always-on-call.Mommy-hood is, hard.Mommy-hood is, sacrifice yet understanding.Mommy-hood is, looking forward to weekends and 'falling back' only to realize, 7am is still 7am.Mommy-hood is, a group sport.Mommy-hood is, only part of who you are.Mommy-hood is, unconditional love. What did I leave out?Be Great,M
