Our Favorites

*We are not sponsored by any of the brands mentioned below- we just like them!*

Fall is upon us! As the seasons change so do the things we need to make our lives easier or at least more comfortable. I wanted to share with you a few things that we've found that help us around the house these days. Here are our September favorites!

Wubbanub

If you are a 'binky-family' as we are I highly suggest you check out the WubbaNub. We did not dive into the realm of WubbaNubs until baby number three. I am kicking myself! The number of times I've spent on the floor searching in the dark for a pacifier is more than I'd like to admit. Our WubbaNub is easy to find at night, comfortable for baby to hold and snuggle and has been the easiest transition to a pacifier of our three kids! Oh, and they're super cute! (I want to get a frog one because they're adorable but I'm holding out.) We do have two giraffes, one upstairs and one downstairs. This makes them always within easy reach when Groot is being extra fussy.

Window Stickies

When these cost between $1 and $3 for a set, you just can't beat them! You can find them at Target, Walmart and almost any craft or dollar store. The best part is that they're available for every holiday and event some general themes as well. Our current theme is Halloween. Little Bear loves taking them off and putting them back on in different patterns. Bubba is a fan of putting the skeletons together and moving their arms and legs into different formations- like they're dancing. If they rip- into the trash they go. They're also NOT stickers which are almost impossible to remove from windows easily. If they make it through the season we place them carefully into a plastic Ziploc bag and put them with the decorations to use next year. If they're worse for the wear they go right into the trash. No mess, no fuss.  One word of caution, don't let the littles put them on your hardwood table or floor, the color may stain the wood. Learn from my mistake. Oops!

Grocery Pick-Up

There are few things that save me time, frustration and meltdowns like our local Harris Teeter grocery pickup. The only thing that would be better is if we had something like InstaCart delivery in our area. (I'm holding out hope- my mom has it in her town and that's only 10 minutes away) I'm able to order my groceries the night before (or even days before) and set a pickup date and time. My groceries are collected, packaged up, and waiting for me to arrive, pay for and pick them up. Lately, as you may know, it's been raining on the East Coast ev.ery.where. Which means that my normal movement of myself and all three kids is intensified ten-fold. If I can avoid taking them out of the car in the rain, I will. This way I can also avoid my biggest pitfall of grocery shopping... the impulse buy. I always end up with something extra sweet and delicious but unnecessary if I go to the store hungry. Which I almost always do. So, if I can save time, money and my hair from falling out, I'm HERE for it!

The Google KEEP App

We're a family at war. A technology war, that is. My husband has an iPhone and I have an Andriod. Apart from our Google Calendar, we don't share very many apps. Except for the most important and my favorite one, which is the KEEP App (Andriod, IOS). This app allows me to make grocery lists, to-do lists and notes that I can share with Hubs in real time.  If he's at the store and picks something up he can cross it off the list in real time. I can also add things to the list last minute if necessary and it'll update. That's a real saver when I realize we're out of toilet paper or gummies!

Book of the Month

I've been part of Amy Landino's Book of the Month club on #AmyTV for two months so far. This month's book has been pure gold for our family. (The last one was Tyra Banks' book and it was a great read.) This month I've been reading The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up by Marie Kondo.  If you've followed me on Instagram you would know that I've been on a decluttering bender. Toys, clothes, and all sorts of items. Kondo talks about removing unnecessary items from your home in order to keep it clear, thus keeping your mind clearer as well. I do love that all of the toys in our family room have a specific place AND that the kids are learning to put them away appropriately. It makes clean up easier and keeps things out of the line of sight when not in use. I highly recommend that you give it a read! I hope you've enjoyed these September Favorites! Please let me know if you have current favorites or recommendations that you think I should check out!Be Great,M
